| The San Francisco de Asis church was built in the 18th century as a refuge from raiding Apaches -- notice the heavily buttressed rear section. It's also an example of Spanish mission architecture. (Unfortunately, it was closed the day we were in Taos, so no pictures from inside.) > | ![]() |
